Inspiration

Barely a moment to sit with the warm afterglow of Saturday's awanmarket on May 25th, and Sunday was already a rush of the neighborhood's collective grass cutting and catching a swarm of Japanese honeybees.

And now Monday has arrived, the day I roast and deliver for each of my partner shops.
Facing everyone's thoughts and challenges, I keep sorting out again what I can and can't do, and keep working toward something better.

A life rooted in nature. The inspiration I draw from it. That is my driving force, and also my place of rest.
It never allows me to stay in the same place. It is a constant give and take, a merging with an ever-changing environment and everything connected to it.

A day packed with all kinds of things. What I couldn't get to must be a sign of happiness, since it means I did everything I wanted to do.
Conversations with people from partner shops give me all sorts of hints too. Their passion, their effort, their smiles are, more than anything, what keeps me going.
Doing my best for them feels like one of my callings.

Before the sun went down, I headed home and took a walk with my dog, Raku.
The satoyama looks beautiful now that the grass cutting is done, though the fireflies at their peak this season might be having a hard time finding somewhere to land.

Days spent living alongside nature, and walking alongside people.
