[A word from the roaster]
A micro-lot grown in fertile volcanic soil. Do savor this AA-grade coffee, with its floral, juicy character.
[About the origin]
In Fraijanes, east of Guatemala City, the Calderón family carries on a coffee-farming lineage of more than a hundred years in Valencia, one of the highest-altitude districts of the area. Drawing on that deep experience and track record, they opened La Pira Farm to take on the challenge of producing coffee of even higher quality.
At an altitude of 1,700 to 1,800 meters, this high ground is enriched by volcanic ash falling from Pacaya, the most active of Guatemala's three great volcanoes, which forms fertile soil abundant in minerals.
The area is also marked by plentiful sunshine, a rare place blessed with a climate that makes sun drying possible without relying on machinery.
Aurora AA is a lot that earned a high score of 87.5 points under the estate's own quality control.
Enjoy its floral, juicy character and its bold, chocolate-like flavor.
